ASSISTANT TO THE FOREMAN – ALICO, INC. (Immokalee, Florida - Posted on December 29, 2011)

This position is responsible for setting up various attachments to a tractor to mow, herbicide, fertilize, disc, spray, hedge, etc., as well as checking irrigation systems. Position will perform duties with little or no supervision from foreman. Will be responsible to trains others and fill in for others, including Foreman, as necessary. Must have a thorough knowledge of the geographic make up of fields; must be able to read, write, understand, and follow instructions; must have thorough knowledge and skills of all agricultural equipment used. Must have the ability to operate assigned equipment safely and efficiently and to keep proper and adequate records. Position requires an Agriculture related degree and a minimum of 2 year’s experience in the operation of all agricultural equipment. Must have a valid driver’s license, a valid pesticide license is preferred, and must be able to lift 50 lbs. unassisted. HEAD OF AGRICULTURE -- Trade Winds Citrus Limited - (Posted June 24, 2011) Location: Jamaica

The Head of Agriculture will be responsible for managing the Agriculture Department and taking full charge of the Company’s citrus cultivation activities including all operational and technical matters. The ideal candidate should have experience with the management of Citrus pests and diseases, especially HLB and should have managed an Agricultural operation that was certified to international standards such as Global GAP.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous improvement of Agricultural Department

Preparation of Departmental reports, including budgeting

Agricultural yield performance management

Managing the Agricultural Team

Monitoring and assessing internal demand for raw material to ensure adequacy

Qualifications

Masters degree in Agronomy or Agriculture

Minimum 5 years experience with commercial citrus crop management

Minimum 3 years senior management experience
